stock primary fuel rail sealing question

So the primary fuel ports on the iron have that hole on the side that runs to a line that in turn runs to the y-pipe. i get that. It apparently has something to do with additional atomization. cool.

What i dont get is how the primary rail seals to the iron above that. i pulled my primary rail out months ago, and do not recall o rings. am i mistaken?

There are grommets that fit between the nozzles of the primary injectors and the center iron. They love to fall out and go exploring, so it's no wonder that they're missing.

They're pretty cheap new, and if your injectors are out I'd just go ahead and get 2 new ones. Ray can get them to you, there's just 2 of them.

There's also a plastic spacer between the primary rail and the block - it goes under the mounting part of the rail and the 2 12mm bolts go through it. It actually serves as a phenolic spacers to help keep heat from the engine out of the fuel rail. That sucker always tries to slide away - I take some grey RTV and glue it down to the top of the block.

You know how the injector rail has 4 holes near the nozzle? That must be fed air from the vacuum hose running to the ypipe. I am leaking air out there. To clarify, this would be about double the diameter of the nozzle

I'm trying very hard to imagine what you are talking about...I don't recall any vacuum hoses running to the rail?

Pics maybe?

will do. ill have some tomorrow.

Its a line running from the ypipe to the lim, toward the bottom. if you blow on that line, it pressurizes the holes inside the primary injector ports on the iron.
