stock plastic elbow throttle body side....question

question for you guys. i did some searching and didn't find what i was looking for. the nipple that comes off the plastic elbow for the throttle body intake side is not on my greddy elbow i just put on. now the hose that went to the nipple is open. am i correct in assuming that this is connected to the air pump assembly? can i just cap off the opening on the hose? i have not run the car yet.... my last rx7 was single turbo and i deleted all that crap. i just don't want to experience something bad because of something silly.

thanks for the help!

That tube goes to the accelerated warmup valve (AWS). A lot of people block it off because it causes the engine to rev up to 3000 rpm when you start the car. You can just plug the hose but a better solution would be to remove the valve from the UIM entirely and use a block off plate to cover the opening.

oh ok.... thats right! i remember blocking that off when i went single on my last rx7. but that was a couple years ago. for the time being, there won't be a problem to just cap it off? i don't like the car revving up to 3k anyway . will it not even try to now?

if i just left it open, is it just gonna rev up like normal since it was just pulling air on the TB side anyway? any reason to not just leave it open?

thanks

Block it off or at least plug the hose.
