Stock hoses on Ron Davis radiator

Hi guys,

I have a Ron Davis radiator and I'm preparing to install stock radiator hoses instead of silicone ones because they are leaking on the radiator ends. I tried with different type of clamps with no success.

I would like to have some feedback from people that have a Ron Davis radiator and stock hoses. Will the hoses fit correctly? Will they leak?

Thanks

Use the stock radiator hoses with the stock spring clamps. Worm drive clamps aren't as good on radiator hoses, spring clamps apply constant pressure even when things heat up and expand. They also don't cut into the hose. And they typically come free with the car .

I really don't see why people buy the silicone radiator hoses. The stock hoses work great, last for damn near forever, and are reasonably priced. You can barely even see the radiator hoses installed so it's not really a show thing.

Thanks guys!

The car already had silicone hoses when I bought it. I received my stock hoses and 4 brand new clamps.

Silicon hoses, while not necessary, usually work fine and aren't hard to seal. Is there a split or tear in the hoses someplace maybe, or a lot of corrosion on the pipes?
