Smile Stock Fog Lights on an R-1...

Hey gang,

I am going to install factory fog lights into my 1993 R-1. Here is what I have observed so far:

I have the short harness for the fog lights (thanks Silver99TT, got it.) Believe it or not, the connector to the front harness is there on my car. I am going on the premise that it would be incredibly STUPID of Mazda to make two separate front harnesses for the R-1 vs. touring (especially since both were available in manual,) and there is going to be more redundant wiring that I can work with.

The next step is to wire into the inside. According to the wiring diagram, the inside switch connects to the front harness by connector X-06, and then follows through to the console. This brings up my first question: where is this connector? Is it inside the engine bay or by that gamish of wires by the fuse box in the driver’s wheel well?

Now working under the same premise of the short harness connector being on the front harness, question #2 comes into play: is the connector for the fog lamp switch buried somewhere in the console, or did the gang at Hiroshima leave it off connector X-06? If not, I was going to run wires to X-06 and solder the wires to the fog lamp switch (going to buy that soon.) Has someone installed fog lamps using my logic above and can you give some input? Thanks!
