Lightbulb Stock Fog Lights?

So i have a 93. My question is can i use the stock fog lights and install a HD bulb.
The bulbs used are H3-55W i believe. Will these work.

Also is it possible to make the stock fog light button turn on the fog lights without having the headlights on?

I seriously doubt those would fit, and even if so the stock foglights really just fill in the lighting in front of the car.

You can upgrade the stock foglight bulb from the stock 35 watt to 55 watt no problem.

If you want to do something neat with the stock foglights, track down a set of the JDM stock foglights. They look identical, but the projector inside is yellow, so you have yellow foglights. I've got them on my car .

You can wire the foglights to stay on, just get out the shop manual and hit the wiring diagrams. Or search, it's probably been covered.

Too bad they're just completely useless
I've been cosidering to change them tho some worthy.

But then again, using foglights where there is no fog can result in ~70 USD fine here in Sweden.

I just did the exact same thing that you are talking about and yes the h3 bulb does fit into the stock fog light! I wired constant hot to the feed wire to the fog light switch, installed the hid kit and adjusted the fog lights up a bit and now i dont have to worry about my headlight covers flying off while driving down the freeway! The only thing is that the h3 bulbs from hidextra there is a square and a half moon shape that are receiver grooves in the bulb it self and they are a touch small so you just have to make them a bit bigger in order for them to fit into the housing flush but no big deal!

To get fogs without having the other lights pop up, you just have to rewire at the fog light switch using a relay. One power wire to 12v+ another to the relay 85. Then wire the rest of the relay and you are good to go.
