Stock FD3S secondary fuel injector leaking & removal
I've got fuel leaking when the engine is running from the top covers of the secondary injectors. Its been so long since I've been into this engine (installed this reman years ago) that I can't remember- can I just pull these injectors out of the fuel rail while its in place on the engine as pictured and replace the o rings or does the rail need to come out?

You can but it is difficult to pull them out of the rail with it is still in the car. They trick is to get a wide flat screwdriver under the connector portion and twist until the injectors pop out. You can spin the injector in the rail to get a better angle. Grabbing them with plyers is sure to break the plastic.

I made a small tool to pry them up from underneath, like a 6" long mini crowbar with a 1" tip made from 1/4" rod with the tip flattened then very slowly prying up in stages from under the connector head. Worked great. The secondary caps remain in the holes, I see no need to remove them. I checked the system for leaks first by jumping the fuel pump and ground terminals in the diagnostic connector with the ig on and it turned out that the primaries were also leaking; the tool worked to remove those as well. Saved what would have been a major hassle of removing the coils, rats nest etc. Did need to remove the sensor in the secondary rail to be able to get my hand on front primary injector connector to remove it. Upper o rings were poor, ordering all 8 plus the sensor one today.
