Whoa whoa whoa . . . put down the pipe and don't read to far into things. If you're so convinced i didn't mean to offend you why are you TRYING to offend me by calling me a idiot? You know you ARE lucky because you actually got something out off all the work you've done; there are people out there who work their whole lives with nothing to show.

artguy lolz, i dont want a ugly *** zo6 man they are so f ing common. ide rather get a evo, or sti then a zo6. and im open to the idea of putting an lt1 in my car, if its not rediculously expensive or hard to do, ive only heard a little bit about it. and i said im rarely gonna drive it hard, will i still blow my motor all the time if i only occasionally use the max boost setting?

hey what do you guys think about me selling my car and going for a new 240 with a new sr20? i just really love light, rwd imports.

i personally think the fd looks way sexier than a s15 overall, but the reliability factor just keeps eating away at my brain. every1 keeps saying that im gonna keep blowing my motor, is it true? if i buy every reliability and saftely mod i can and only occasionally drive the car in the max boos setting. will i still blow my motor all the time? this is making me sad, its like im in denial a little bit, every1 blows their motor all the time and i just keep thinking mine wont if im extra carefull

Buy an FD with lots of mods on it already. Seriously there are nice ones out there that are cheaper than the value of your FD and mods. If your car is in good shape it should sell for $13-15K. $20-22K will buy you a very nicely modded FD if you look around. The work is done, results are proven and in the end you saved some $$.

I would have to agree, if your going to get one, get one that has all the goodies on it already, you'll save yourself a lot of money and head ache.

A couple ways to do this have been mentioned.

The most reliable way though, goes against the rotary philosophy. If you want all that power with the best reliability, its LS-1/LT-1 time.

wow is it really better off for me to buy a modded car? i dont think so kuzz the thing is, i payd a lot for my car, way too much to be exact. so if i sell it for 13 which is prolly the most i can get for it, kuzz it needs work, then ill already have lost a lot of money. if i buy a modded car, there is a lot more risk involved, i dont know if the previous owner gran turismo'd the crap out of the car b4 it went up for sale or what. when ppl soup up rx7's for high HP, they usually do a fair amount of beating on the car dont they? I think if i buy a modded car, chances are im gonna need a new motor again soon. but the idea does make sense mathimatically. Even tho the idea kinda makes me sad, i will definately look into it, if i can buy a modded fd for low 20's, that's definately worth looking into... thanx for the opinions.

doesnt any1 else want to tell me how to waste about 15 stacks on my car? and if any1 knows of any modded cars for sale for a good price let me know please.

dammit you guys just made me sad...
i really dont want to sell my car, but i think it would be stupid not to, if there really is a big savings for me to sell and buy another modded one. but ive just never thought about selling it, i payd so much for it i was just gonna keep it till im old, then maybe it will have gone up in value by then lol, and i can sell it for what i bought it for

So basically you're going to trade your equity for a loan to modify a car that's more than likely going to break at the power levels you're looking for? Good plan.

Depends on who you buy a modded car from. Joe Ramos recently sold his well modded FD, original owner, excellent condition. Wael sold his FD, he spent $8K just on the PAINT, the car was MINT if you'd ever checked out his site. If you buy a FD from an older person that has owned it for years you can get what you want. If you buy it from a young punk you'll get a car with a bunch of hacked in mods while they ignored standard maintance.

It would also help if you wrote more clearly, use punctuation. Right now I find it hard to believe you have a house that you want to pull a bunch of equity out of and toss it out the window on a FD...

I'm just gonna have to toss this in the mix, get yourself a red touring and then find some junk viper with good motor and tranny and put that in there.

Seems like you really dont know what you want. Jumpin from FD to 240 to swapin a lt1 into an FD. Write down your goals and go from there Steve from Gothamracing.com or Chris from Rotary performance.com will help you with whatever your decision is. Both are located in Texas and both build great motors..
Decide on what Horse power range you want to be at and what times on the 1/4 you would like to be at...

After reading all your responses to the posts, I think it's only appropriate to step in, and mention that you, MADBOOST, are one retarded human being. You think he was insulting you by calling you "lucky"? Pull the broom out of your ***, and realize that he was kidding. He even had that smirking smiley face next to it. Also, learn how to type. I think it is sad that you own your own house, yet you don't even know how to put together a coherant sentence that contains more that 2 words...

Thumbs up Good Idea

first off dont change the engine, either get a new 13b or reman. Second check out pfsupercars.com he's got some killer mods for the fd, and a few bolt on's later you can be lookin at 400-500rwhp. which i'm not sure could be 11-12 and a daily driver. If you dont go Peter Farrel then Go Petite, if florida is to far then Alamo Rotary in TX would be my next best bet. I did a theoretical price build for my rx-7 imaginary fd and came to about 23g's for around 450 daily driving ponies. But thats with body mods and the whole sh-bang. Although the selling of your car and buying a modded one is a good idea savings wise there are too few that arent in need of dire repair. But I would recomend the dual oil coolers on the r2 as well as a relocated battery, bigger radiator and intercooler. upgraded injectors, fuel controller, boost timer adjuster and guage, a/f guage, egt guage, ECU, 3mm apex seals with street port, and possbile reman turbos, Down pipe, no cat, and a dual tip exhaust (gotta love the stock look with out the coffee can crap). With the stock fuel system and ignition you can safely squeeze out a max of 500 hp and be looking to spend around 15 g's if you want I have spare time this weekend to price an inventory sheet of the things i would do. but please go to the web pages and lookaround for yourself. Peter Farrel Has his RX-7 for sale and I would sell yours in a HB and buy his. Just suggestions. Happy hunting. - The Big G
