Stock Fans CFM

Does anyone know the approximate CFM of the stock fans. I am coming to the conclusion that the stock fans do not flow enough for the koyo radiator with a smic setup and this is why my car climbs at idle and even faster up hill (even with fan switch mod). My hood and underhood temps get extremely hot from idling so hot you cant lift the hood.

Thinking of switching to the BCI 7005 cooling fans from summit racing they mount to the koyo. Either this or vented hood? Does vented hoods really help heatsoak of the radiator at idle?

The stock fans flow quite a bit... it's natural for some climb in temps to occur under load, but it really shouldn't be much in a good system.

I think you've got another problem. What sort of temps are youseeing?

all new hoses, new thermostat for 180F, new radiator caps, no coolant pressure loss or air bubbles. koyo racing radiator

traveling for 8 mins with the a/c on high and fan switch...car maintains temps fine on highway but in stop and go traffic or stop signs in my neighborhood and uphill driving...(NO BOOST) = 215F and climbing....on highway its around 185-190...at night with rock solid 185 degrees

im pretty sure its heatsoak because i have a large smic (HUGE) and a huge aluminum custom duct blocking to it blocking significant airflow from the fans?

plus if the hood is popped the car does not climb in temps...i can sit at idle a/c on full and it barely climbs

i had a similar setup, koyo/asp large. and i also felt like if i just let it sit with the AC on it would overheat in moderate temps.

no brilliant solutions for you though.

Don't know what to tell you. It shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know about your huge IC duct, but if you've blocked air exit flow to that great an extend, it doesn't matter what fans you've got. Higher CFM fans won't blow through no opening any better.

I'd check for proper multispeed operation of fans, be sure they're both running on max speed w/ A/C on. Check to see that oil cooler(s) are functioning, perhaps ditch Koyo. I don't have these issues with Fluidyne, I NEVER see over 99C. Ever, under any circumstances.

holy biggest picture I've ever seen.....

Battery removal will help- Also the Koyo is a fine unit- Might be time for a vented hood- looks crowded in there. Let me know if you need anything-

well i have already moved the battery.....didnt improve cooling one bit....everything is still hot as hell!....the uim is scortching hot...the i/c...and the i/c duct flaming hot after sitting in traffic for 20 mins on a 95F day if im cruising temps are fine and its cool to the touch

so what do you guys reckon i do?

have some vents installed in the hood across the center with mesh (does this help?)

actually get a vented hood with aimed vents/ducts

or larger fans?

seems to me like its just heatSOAKING....and the hot air cant escape? not a coolant system issue
