stock bov

Hello, I have a 1994 rx7 and just wanted to make sure it is ok to vent the stock bov, provided you have a small filter. I have heard it is not good.
Any opinions would be appreciated
Thanks

There's no problems doing so. Some cars don't do well with vented BOV's (cars with airflow meters, like DSM's) but on the FD it does fine. The stock BOV flows great, reacts well, and makes fun noises when it's vented.

Make sure to cap up the unused hole on the airbox. There are rubber caps that are designed for the bottom of chairs - they work GREAT. I've bought them at Wal-Mart before for cheap, and they're mighty handy. 7/8" fits perfect, if I recall properly.

thanks, I had it vented once and capped the airbox hole, but then someone with a second gen got a little nervous, K and N makes a small reusable filter that will fit in that hose if you want to filter the air,
thanks again

Even if your turbos and motor are perfectly healthy, you will get an oily buildup from the exposed BOV over time. If your turbos are slightly worn, you will get an oily buildup much faster. Just something to keep an eye on.
