Stock boost question (i feel stupid asking this...)
Well, here goes...
will the turbo take effect at the proper time as long as the throttle is open (at any point), or will it only take effect after a certain point?
right now, the boost is only noticable after the throttle is opened around half-way...but i could have sworn that when i got the car, i could have felt it boost under any throttle pressure, and the boost was much more pronounced
sadly, i didn't have the car long enough to remember what the stock boost felt like...so if you could just clear this up for me that would help a lot. thanks!
sorry for asking such a stupid question

2 words:Turbo lag
stock sequential; about 1second to full boost at above 2000 rpms(wop)
single big turbo: about 1second to full boost at above 4500 rpms(wop)
cant really tell at anything below wop

i have a boost gauge, and i know about turbo lag, i was just wondering why the boost was less pronounced as before (with it sometimes not coming on at all) but with the boost gauge reading normally...
anyways i guess/hope its just me being stupid, but i could have sworn it felt different before!

the less you open the throttle, the less air will get into the engine, and therefor less air coming out of the engine to spool the turbos.
that's how turbos work. turbo spool is a factor of engine speed AND load (throttle position).
