Exclamation Steering Column Help: Bolt Interchangable?

I've got a problem with the bolt on my steering column hitting the down pipe everytime I turn left. I'm referring to the bolt that sits abit forward and is below the brake booster.

Mind you I have a RHD and the down pipe already came with a dent in it to clear this. Unfortunately my after market one doesn't clear it completely.

My question is can I interchange this bolt for one that is abit shorter or should I just get an exhaust shop to take it off and hammer in the dent abit more?

I'm sure this is a special type of bolt from memory but does anyone know the size?
