Question Starting problems, need help

I just got a 3rd gen. a couple of months ago. When you turn the key to crank it it will click, but not start, or turnover or anything. If you turn it a couple of times it will usually fire right up. I replaced the started thinking that something was wrong with it. The same problem with the new starter. For the most part it is just a minor annoyance, but if the car is hot it will not start (just click once). I have to pop the hood and let the fan run for a while (up to 30 min.) before I can get it to start. Now that is getting warmer (only 70 degrees F), it is happening more often. On warm sunny days even if I havn't driven it, it takes 5-10 turns. I really need to figure it out before summer or I may get stuck with no transportation.(this is my daily driver)
1993 touring automatic.
Any ideas, solutions, or help of any sort would be greatly appreciated.

maybe change spark plugs, or it could be your engine flooding.

The click is likely the solenoid engauging the starter gear to the flywheel. Thats good.

Could be a short in the ignition switch right there at the key. Sometimes folks with a 1/2 pound of keys leave their car keys on same key chain. The weight can eventually cause wear.

I'd start with the recomendation from skunk though..
