starting problems
i have a '93 auto rx7 and i had just installed an apexi boost controller everything was running fine except in 3rd hold the car would lag from 4500-5000rpm. now the car wont start. it turns over and acts like it wants to start but just doesnt get that far. i replaced the spark plugs to see how to solve the problem but it's still having the same problems...the boost controller reads about 400rpm when starting but doesnt get that extra push to start it. if anyone knows how to troubleshoot this problem please help a bros. out.

Sounds like it is flooded. I have the same problem myself right now. http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/s...g_flooded.html
ok ive tried getting the car started by unflooding it but it still doesnt get going. it gets up to 400rpm and it just doesnt get enough kick to get going. are there any other things that might be wrong with it?

Did you use the ATF in the spark plug holes? Change plugs? Test for spark?
You only need three things to start. Fuel, spark, compression. Pray to god it's not the third one, spark is relatively simple to check for, as is fuel.

do the spark plugs come pre-gapped or does there have to be a certain gap in the plugs...and how should i go about testing the spark? just leave the plugs out and see if they spark?

those are the same spark plugs that i bought...would it be a good idea to try and push start the car? and if so how would that be done with an automatic and how high of a speed would i need to get it at for it to start?

Things to make sure you've done:
Replaced the plugs
Pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked the motor with the plugs out to clear out any gas thats in there
Let it sit overnight with plugs out to really really dry everything
ATF in the plug holes
Checked for spark
Make sure you have fuel pressure
If you've done all that and it still won't start, compression check maybe? I wouldn't take it to a shop unless theres a good rotary mechanic in your area (not a Mazda dealership). You're better off trying yourself.
