just switched out the fuel pump. reprimed the rail already. also just installed the PFC.

when i try to start the car, the car keeps cranking over for about 4-5 seconds then i hear a loud "pop" noise (i only have a dp on right now) with some smoke smell

i immediately stop cranking. i am not sure whether the car was about to start up or it's running lean on fuel?!?!?!

not sure what i should do next... keep trying to start the car?

 

Its highly unlikely (near impossible) that the car would be creating boost there. even then, enough at idle/startup to cause it to run lean. make sure you've hooked everythng back up the way it was supposed to be, then give it another go.
