starting car after rebuild
ive read i should let it run for 20 mins after rebuilding?
how long should i get smoke?
how long before it idles properly (1k rpms)?
is it normal for it to idle at 2.5k rpms after letting it idle for 10 mins?
how hot do the turbo heat shields get?

1) you should always allow the car to warm up to NOT before driving
2) you'll prolly get smoke for a little while but it should go away after some smooth driving.
3&4) you may have to adjust your TPS or throttle cable to make it idle properly, but it shouldn't just idle at 2500 forever. does it still have the AWS on it?
the turbo heat shield will get very hot
have you tuned it yet?
considering it just was rebuilt don't boost it hard until you've driven it about 1000 miles

i havent tuned the tps .. was just letting it idle, but im getting alot of smoke from the turbo area, i cant tell if its oil thats dripping and burning or if its the heat shields (i painted them with some engine paint) or if its something more serious
i let it idle with the coolant burping tool and water temps seem fine ( hit 92 C or so and dropped to 84 C) i've seen videos where they burp it and it didnt seem as violent as mine is
also i noticed my uim near where it mates to the lim is really hot and my crossover tube (ic to turbo is really hot) i havent ran this car in over a year so i dont really recall if it got that hot

i used crisco so i dont get much smoke .. just smoke from the turbo areas .. its very scary never having rebuilt an engine before and i can only imagine 2x scarier that its a rotary engine .. i dont remember how the car is supposed to run since its been over a year since i even started the engine ..
is it normal for the area between near where the lim and uim to get really hot while the tb is relatively cool? and is it normal for the crossover tube to feel really hot?
