Got my car back about 2 weeks ago after a rebuild, past 4 days when I would turn the key I would hear a sort of grinding metal sound for a quick second or two. Each day a bit louder and sounded worse. Went to start it today and now whatever it was sounds like its disconnected, slipped off, etc...

When I turn the key the only noise I get is a quiet whirring, spinning noise, but nothing else. Suggestions on what it could be? here I was lastnight thinking I better drop it off before something happens and I have to get it towed, too late : /

This is on a 95 auto.

I'm guessing starter solenoid.
