Why? Are you going for the looks? Never tried them. OEM hoses last a LONG time, they're the correct bore size, have the right bends to fit properly... especially with other components, and less expensive than those.

Well I was thinking more in line of a non-stock mount radiator like a v-mount. Wouldn't it be more advantageous to have the flexiblity of the stainless steel hose, instead of modifying the rubber hoses?

If its non- stock fitment yes. That's what that hose is designed for. But you didn't say that.

Details details...I'm surprised that I couldn't find anything in the forum about anyone trying them. My thought is that they are flexible and better at handling heat, but was trying to get a second opinion from someone who may have used them before. I've noticed that a lot of folks who restore older cars use them.

Gotta pay more attention, I do use this forum a lot due to the wealth of knowledge but tend to only ask questions when I am sure they haven't been asked before.

With your post-count this could probably have been posted in the 3rd Gen. Section and gotten alot more views, and better chance of feedback. Just explain that it's for a 'V' mount next time.
Maybe PM the mod...misterstyx69. See if he thinks you should start a separate thread or just have it moved.

Been using them for years on my V-Mount setup - no issues at all.

Good to hear, I'm moving to a v-mount soon and am looking into hose options. Have any pictures?

If you're going to do it, than do it right and just go AN... -16 Aeroquip (starlight) lines and hose ends will do you right.

I'm sure thats a very secure setup but with the type I posted you wouldn't have to weld a male fitting on the radiator, correct?

No, I don't think you would need to add male fittings unless you went AN.

The thing with AN though, is that it's expensive (once) but once it's done you don't need to mess with it ever again. You can fit it pretty much ANYWHERE, it looks a HELL of a lot better than any other "custom" option and it's most likely going to outlast your next 3 engines

Wow RENESISFD, that is very impressive indeed! I'm concerned with the engine moving around on poly mounts and having the radiator solid mounted and solid pipes, what type of give is there with those clamps?

There is 16 degrees of allowable movement as well as approximitely .5" of in and out movement. In other words; plenty, even if you had stock mounts.

They use those clamps on fighter jet fuel lines.

Thats why they looked so familiar, my buddy was showing me a F-18, when I was stationed on the Harry S. Truman (CVN75). So the only really question is where can we get them?

Ebay as well as many retailers online. Prepare for sticker shock though.

If you are patient you can find some good deals on ebay for them.

I got mine from Summit Racing. I have a build thread on the other forum (the one that linking to is a bannable offense here on the 7club) that's got a full shopping list with links, prices, and needed space. You're welcome to poke around the interwebs to find it if you'd like (or PM me and I'll give you enough hints to make it a much faster search).

Its ultimately going to be up to dependability as well as affordability, which again we are talking about "hoses" basically, these are some good options, but anyone using the type of hose I originally posted?
