Talking SSautochrome downpipe = teh winnar!

a few months ago I bought this DP on EBAY for cheap, it arrived with a shiny polished surface and nice bends and welds.

After reading horror stories about DP's that don't fit I took the risk and sent it out to Jethot for a Jethot 2000 ceramic coating ($90 including s/h). Ok, now to the install.

It took me like 2 weeks because I did a little bit everyday, I don't have much free time plus I broke a stud (there's another thread about that). Well, IT FITS JUST FINE!!!!

I had a difficult time putting it on though, had to tighten the nuts a little at a time so it was properly seated, and I didn't want to scratch the ceramic coating. I'm currently using just 3 studs/nuts with plenty of 2600 degrees anti sieze compound, I tried an allen head bolt in the last corner but it didn't fit because of the tight bend in the pipe. I'm going to buy a new stud and see if I find a thin profile nut for that corner.

Test drive =

I fired her up and waited for the penetrant to smoke away, I had the hose ready just in case. I don't think missing that stud is causing a leak yet, I guess under boost it may. I'll fix it soon. I can hear those turbos really loud now! I'm very satisfied, cuts and bruises, sore muscles and the satisfaction that I did it myself.

One concern... I boosted 16 psi in the secondary( it's like 35 degrees out)!!!!!! I picked up 3 psi just with the DP Boost controller time

Now my power mods are:

Adam c modded stock airbox with OEM filter
Jethot2000 coated SSautochrome DP
M2 Stage 3 ECU

Next Week: RB dual Catback and manual boost controller (thinking about the ceramic ball Hallman Pro)

You don't want to spike that high with out a fuel computer. I'm glad you had success with that down pipe.

I have the M2 ECU but I'm still getting a controller to keep it at 12 psi
