Angry SR motorsports airbox?

This has got to be the biggest piece of junk that I have ever gotten. When we first got it it looked really good and it was going to work out fine. We already had the old air box out and were trying to get it in....and low and behold it does not fit. It not only didn't fit, there is no way it will ever fit. So we call them up and we tell them that we are going to return it becuase it dosen't fit....and they tell me that there is a 25% restocking fee...25%???? They are out of their mind if they think we are going to pay $125 for them to put it back on the shelf. So if any of you are thinking of getting this intake system, think again....worst intake ever.

What a load of crap!

The SR Motorsports/RX7fashion box has extremely good construction quality and fits perfectly. I suggest you post up some pics of how it doesn't fit before bashing a quality product!

my Rx7fashion box fit slightly better than my CF M2 box. It sat lower and didn't hit the hood liner.

I thought the Koyo was worse in fitment. Regardless, the more aftermarket pieces you add the more you will find out how variable the fitment is. The only part that I found fit the easiest was the Racing Beat exhaust.

I've purchased products a few times for cars that just plain didn't fit either even when other people had no problems (I'm speaking of aftermarket performance parts in general, not SR Motorsports). It's frustrating.

The wording in your first post implies that you still have the air box, then after I call you on it, suddenly it's shipped out? Even though you're going to lose the $125?

I'm still calling BS. Lots of owners of this box out there (including myself) and the construction quality is excellent, as well as fitment.

If you have a problem with a part, you think you would take pictures for proof to get your money back.

you think you would have better things to do then try and call BS on me. Don't lose too much sleep because I hate the poorly made, crappy construction, and horrible fit of the SR motorsport intake box.

do this:

1. get the intake back.
2. take pictures and post it in the for sale section a few bucks cheaper then what you bought it for. since this product is well liked by many people here, maybe you might be able to recoup some of the restocking fee.

You're contradicting yourself. First you say:

Then you say:

How does it first look really good, then turn into something that's poorly made with crappy construction? It's an airbox with a removable lid that is easily inspected inside and out. If it was poorly made with crappy construction, it would have been readily apparent when you first looked at it.

What's the real story?

It's not flaming. It's calling a BS-sounding story out. I don't like it when people (especially this guy) come on here and bash a good product with no evidence whatsoever.

I have no idea what would motivate this guy to make this story up, but I'm not buying it until I see pictures....

I thought mods were supposed to remain above posting in a retarded thread such as this?

It seems more logical to keep it professional, and just delete it.

I don't like deleting threads unless they are spam or are otherwise worthless. As far as mods posting...I don't know why not?

I had a conversation with the provider of the air boxes today and learned something interesting....apparently SOME FDs have a small metal brace at the rail behind the passenger side headlight. This rail needs to be ground down or what have you to fit in the SR Motorsports/RX7fashion intake (or the M2, or Rotary Extreme, or any other box-style intake).

This is most likely the reason that AstroZombie couldn't make the intake fit. In 4 years here, I have never seen a single person post about this issue, so I was surprised to learn of it today. That brace may only be present on some 93s....

See....that's why I don't like to arbitrarily delete threads...now there is useful info here!

As far as the box being made with poor quality, well, that's just pure bologna. These boxes are very well made with excellent build quality.
