My car has started getting some ignition break up, pulled the plugs and they look pretty healthy (Ordered a replacement set just incase).

The odd thing is, any electrical load at idle when the engine is cold (Fans, radio, lights, pushing the brakes etc). Causes a rather annoying squealing noise from the belts area, sounds like it comes from the alternator or water pump.

When the car is left 3-4 days without driving, it needs a fair bit of accelerator help to idle for the first 10 seconds or so (Loads of ignition break up, bangs & pops nicely). After that 10 or so seconds, its idles fine. If its been driven the day before, it starts just fine. So I'm thinking this may be a battery/alternator issue?

When driving I get mild ignition breakup above 5krpm.

I fitted a new set of coils last year, so I'm hoping I can rule out it being the coils.

Shes still on sequential twins with all the bolt ons, PFC, SMIC, RAD, simplified sequential, HKS EVC5, HKS intakes, airpump deleted, aluminium pulleys, full cat less exhaust etc.

Any ideas?

Alternator was on the way out, replaced & all is now good .
