sports compact car rx7

i was reading about the sports compact car rx7 and man that thing is crazy. with a dp, cb, intake, competition radiator and remapped ecu it made 301rwhp and like 280tq. the thing is was running at 13psi without a boost controller or maybe they had one but im not sure cuz they didnt say anything about that. the other thing was that they said because of the ecu the transition from turbo1 to turbo2 had like no lag at all. Doesnt that sound weird, you would think they would have crazy boost spikes but they said no boost spikes perfect transitions. What do you guys think, is it true or possible and could you run 13 psi on a stock motor with 93 octane with out it being dangerous

with proper fuel enrichment...yes its very possible....and the prespool is also electronically controlled by a solenoid valve...so in theory the ecu may be a key factor in smoothing transition....

boostcrzy so your saying if ecu has proper fuel remapping it could be possible because they didnt say if they were using a fuel controller.

I have followed the whole project and yes they did have a boost controller, the Profec B. I don't recall them saying about the no lag in transition boost. Yes, they were runing around 13 psi because they had the M2 remapped or upgraded ECU. Oh well, boost or not the engine over heated due to failing coolant seal and the engine die.
They are doing a single turbo now with SR Racing and a Haltec with a ported engine, will see how they do.

the ecu was remapped for the modifications... i.e. proper fuel for those mods. M2 and Pettit offer remapped ecu's, as i'm sure a few others do also.

i didnt say that they didnt have any but they said the lag was barebly noticable and where did it say that they got a profec b i read it online and maybe they didnt put it on there. so its not safe to run 13psi on a stock motor with all those mods and a remapped ecu

Read on, they do have a boost controller. Maybe you haven't got to the issue where they talk about it.
