NY Spirit R seats install

hey guys, im looking to see if anybody can help me. I'm having some problems installing my spirit R seats. I bought them a few months ago off this forum. I was told that the railings were direct bolt-in, but unfortunately there not. I had to modify the bolt-in holes(i had to weld and extend the bolt-in holes on the bracket).

I also have a question about the seat belts. Are the railings supposed to have the attachment for the seat belts clips receiver. the railings that i have do not have them. Am i supposed to use my stock seat belt clip receivers, if so where do i bolt them in?
I did some research and was told that the miata also carried the spirit R seats.I'm thinking that these railings were from a miata and not from a FD.
Does anyone have any pictures on how these seat railings look ?

Any info towards this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Post pictures of the rails and I can tell you if they are aftermarket, miata or fd rails. If they were genuine FD rails they would bolt in 100%, I have installed genuine rz/spirit r seats with rails many times with zero issues. Sounds like you got screwed.

does sound like you have the right rails. there should be a lever for tilt in the front if not, you don't have the rails. the seat belts clips are right on the seat if I don't remember it wrong.

post a few pictures.

Certainly looks like what you have are not FD3S RZ/Spirit R rails.
A few more for ya.

crispy

Crispy, thanks for helping me out with the photos. I really confirmed that what I have it's not authentic. I already looking for an authentic set. Can you let me know the part number for this railing so I can check if I can get them. Or does anybody know where to buy these railings? Thanks for all everything it was good info.

dont quote me on this but i think its cheaper and easier to find seats then it is to find rails. there are other options for rails. contact bryan he will lead you in the right direction

No they are just a photo I had stored on my computer, not for sale. As Simon mentioned, they are IMPOSSIBLE to find individually, think about it logically, why would anyone sell the rail without the seat? Been open for over 2 years now and have only seen one rail or sale.

Sorry. These are from my to-be-installed RZ/Spirit R's. They came with my seats. The only number I'm aware of are off that sticker as seen in the picture:

19 3/ 47 7/ 14 KEIPER RECARO 46388

Good luck,
Crispy

Good luck, the rails can be harder to get than the seats for some reason.

I believe I installed the same rails that didn't bold directly in as you have. What I did was lightly hammer the rails down to match and it didn't require me to cut anything. You might want to see if that will work.
