Speed Density???

I need to fill in a gap in my turbo tech info.... i have a dp and cb and was going to hold off on my intake till I get a computer. If I run a manual boost control, will this allow me to run the intake safely? All we ever talk about is boost, and never flow rate, so my question is will flow rate increase and cause me to go lean even at "safe" 10-11psi with the three flow mods mentioned? Or will the MBC set at a say stock 10psi but using DP CB and intake keep me safe, and can anyone give a short description of speed density vs. mass flow. I know mazda chose speed density for specific reasons, modability not being one of them.

I know these have probably been addressed in the past more than once, but I was looking for some specific info. I'm third year mechanical engineering, so I'm not a fool just have these lingering ideas in my head and have never ran across the answers.
