How do you test the igniter?

My car has been acting really funny lately and it seems ignition related. I've replaced the plugs and wires, and tested the coils. My question is, how do you test the igniter? I looked in the manual and it was pretty unclear as to where the igniter is. And it says to use the SST to test, which I don't have. Anybody done this before?

Igniter is under cruise control.

Easiest way to test is to switch with friend! Look at replacing your ignition harness - plugs into coils.
