Speaking of Idle Speed
Speaking of Idle Speed
Bought this car in May 05, put a reman in it in June with all new silicone hoses.
Engine runs great, broke it in properly. Idle speed has been high since I put the engine in. I figured no big deal, it just needed adjustment. I broke out the factory manual last night and tried to adjust it. The Air Adjustment screw was already screwed in all the way so I tried the idle screw with the lock nut on it.
No change. I can adjust it faster, but cant get it below 1100rpm. I read on another thread last night that a vac leak can cause fast idle. This seems an unlikely cause although I haven't tested yet. What else can cause a fast idle?
Any suggestions?
Only mods are downpipe, catback and Apexi intake.

Check the throttle-cable adjustment. If the throttle cable does not have enough slack, it can hold the throttle slightly open. Also check the cruise-control cable - same reason.
Other things (faulty PCV valve, for instance) in addition to the usual vacuum hose or gasket problems can cause high idle.
