sounds like wastegate is leaking boost

i just bought my 93 FD about 3 weeks ago. for some reason it doesn't feel like i am using all of the boost. it sounds like the wastegate is leaking boost when i ever i get on the gas. i ordered new vaccume hoses and a downpipe and they should be coming any day now. i was wondering if anybody had any helpful ideas as to what could be the problem??? the car has 95,000 miles on the original motor but the compression is ok. i am rebuilding another engine right now but it wont be done for a couple of months and i would like to get the one in the car running right.
Thanks
Dan

What makes you think the wastegate is leaking boost? Are you sure you are not taking about the BOV?

sounds like a hose isnt clamped down tight enough, and the heat is expanding the hose which is allowing a leak. Check the BOV connection on the Y-pipe, those tend to get loose with those crappy stock clamps.

How much boost are you seeing?
