some smoke at high rpm
i noticed a couple of days ago, some smoke in 1st gear at high rpms. then i noticed again tonight in first and second.
could this be caused by my new dp? i thought it might but i want to make sure.
i cant see the smoke in the daylight so i cant tell you what color it is. i can only see it, or notice it, at night when i take off from a stoplight and look in the rear view. it looks like it may be quite a bit, but again im not sure.
any USEFUL information would be helpful.
thanks.

It's a rotary. If it's leaking or burning oil, then it doesn't have any.
But seriously, there's a good chance it's just a little rich fuel coming out. It could be the begining signs of turbos pooping out on you.
All in all, I say, if you can't see it in the day time, then don't worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know about anyone else but I've always seen smoke in the lower gears, at high rpms. This isn't just my car either.
Hopefully it's black smoke which means it's rich, and in the lower gears cause the car doesn't have momentum yet.

yea at high rpms i was blowing black smoke, but when I installed a full exhaust" ohh no", out comes the white smoke, lots of it to. I could never find out the reason for it doing for that though. Im sure it was the turbos and the motor they both had 85k originals or there.

well my turbos have quite a few miles on them, but i dont think they are ready. the smoke appears to be either black or brown, but again i cant see it. the good news is that i don think its blue.

No, your idle map, and your WOT map are completely different. And if you just casually bring it to redline, and hold it there, you will be in closed loop mode. So No it wouldn't smoke at high rpm in nuetral.
