Hi Rich.....nice to see you still in touch with us
When are you coming home???
Very nice Dad-to-Son relationship....

You're in good hands as far as tunning
So it should good on the dyno......<GOOD LUCK>

Note:
>>Right now b/c of the limits of the stock 2 bar map sensor my pfc commander only reads up to 1.15 or 16.4 psi......<<

FYI:
1.15kg/cm2 on the PowerFC is easily 17.5psi....I tested many in the area and they seem to be identical.
1.14kg/cm2 registered 17psi..
Unless you have changed the offset for PIM scale.

Good luck..

Hi JD,

thanks for the well wishes bud

I just checked a pressure conversion site, and

1 psi=.070309 kg/cm^2
14.22psi=1 kg/cm^2
16.36psi=1.15 kg/cm^2

I'm wondering if perhaps you're saying the commander reads down about 1 psi? What kind of tests did you conduct? Thanks for the input--

Rich

Rich: Your conversions are correct.
The PowerFC is simply a bit off....it reads lower the actual boost and gap widens as you go up in boost.

I tested it w/ a pump while reading pressure on PowerFC and 2 other gauges (HKS & SPI) and also noted the presure voltage at same pressure.
I did the same on 4 PowerFCs and results were identical.

So just keep on eye on that boost gauge and give me 400+++++ rwh

What do you think is the reason for the discrepancy?

hmmm...atmospheric pressure and offset under PIM scale for oem map sensor.
By changing that offset(#3947) you could bring it closer to actual.....but I like it as is....allows me run 17.5 psi rather then the ~16.4psi.

Know what really sucked? showing up at 10am, waiting around in the middle of nowhere for 5 hours in 100deg heat and plenty of other frustrations, rough day all around.

Your car's gonna kickass Goodfella, Steve is a great tuner and from what i could tell a helluva guy ta boot. hope you eventually get plenty of seat time in your 7, its pretty awesome

Hey all. Not been on in a long while! lol I don't know about you guys but my car is set up with the stage 3's. When my car hits 17 psi on my autometer guage, it is 1.05 on the PFC. When it is at 18 psi it is at 1.10 or so. When It is running 20 the PFC reads 1.14-5. My guage must be off quite a bit lol. I didn't get an exact reading from my guage, but I raced a new GSXR600 with a pipe and intake from a 75 kick. In 3rd gear my car was running 17 psi. I imediately jumped a half car on him, then we both hit gears, my boost guage goes up to 19-20ish, I really start leaving him lol. By 6500 in 4th, I had 3 or 4 full car lengths on him . My first street race in the new FD! Had to be a bike hehe. I am very pleased with the stage 3's. Not to push my own product, but it is down right scary when you turn up the boost . That means both hands on the wheel and hang on!!!!

Take care,
Bryan
