Solenoid Rack Interchanging?
Okay i've search the forum to find my answer but came up empty. Im doing the hose job and as you all know broke some stuff. Here is my question. The solenoids on the rack under the UIM. Do they all function differently or can they go back into any place. Like for example, the third one in from the front, can that go back into the first slot, or does it function completely different. The reason I ask is I took one off,( broke it ), Fixed it, then pulled the next one out and it broke, so me, ( the agressive mechanic) got all mad and pulled them all out cuz they all broke. Do they have to return to the exact same spot. If so Is their any one that can get me the whole rack. Mazda Quoted me $40.00 a Solenoid. Thanks for the help guys.

For some reason they all have different part numbers, but it has been verified many times now that they all function in the same way. The testing procedures in the FSM are even the same for all of them. So to answer your question, yes, you can interchange any solenoid on the rack.

I am also in the middle of the hose job....I would say even if they did function the same (don't know for sure but would guess not) I would put them back in the order they were in..
If you need solenoids that you broke there are quite a few forum members who have gone single or nonseq that have a bunch left over...just post a WTB in the classified section..
Good Luck
