Well, shipping may not be that much because its a relatively small kit (though not sure about weight), and import duties and tax are a tossup. I have heard of things slipping by w/o duties. I'm in the middle of a transaction for a 99 rear spoiler, and shipping via Air post is $50.

In the end, what a person is paying for is the Japanese connections that a vendor has developed. Well worth it in my opinion, as that 1) I don't speak Japanese 2) I don't know anybody personally in Japan 3) I will not be traveling to Japan anytime soon (though I want to!), like Chuck and Tony of rxecret7.com has (for business purposes).

i don't think so, from my understanding cost for shipping throught them for the lights is $100 total. because the cost is still relatively the same its tough because one with one kit you get better lighting (rx7even's kit) but other it is a trusted manufacture, quality (knightsport). don't get me wrong from what i understand rx7even has been doing things for a lot a people on the board and i too was interested in sending him my taillights to him for conversion (i saw how easy it was to take out so i did it myself). even this headlight conversion i might give a try, if i can't i know i can always go to rx7even for them, i'll start trying while i await rx7even's final product ad total cost.

thanx guys for your help and input, luigi

Ha, I dont really know what to add that someone hasnt said already. True the lights are $729 (never seen them that cheap, not too bad), but shipping will still be killer. $100 is a lot and still pushes the price to $829, assuming it makes it through customs without an additional fee. Unless that $100 is airmail, then you'll be waiting about 4 weeks for it too. The UPS (or whoever I end up using) can be slow at times, but I don't think it'll take that long.

Hopefully the quality on mine will be as good as the Knightsports kit, if not better. I'm using different lights (which will provide better lighting) and different materials (going to try and have a carbon fiber front cover made instead of the fiberglass the Knightsports kit appears to be).

My cardboard prototype should be finished tonight, so tomorrow I should be building the brackets out of aluminum to start testing the lights out. Then they go into production. Dang this is a LOT of work.
