So who wants to school a complete noob to Rotoary

Hey guys I'm a complete noob. I've always tinkered with Honda B-series and the mighty 4g63T. I'm about to pick up a 93 Rx-7 with no engine. My buddy pulled and sold the engine to make room for the "infamous" LS1 swap. He then ran into some financial problems and is selling the car. I'm going to pick up the shell, with everything in it except the motor and trans, of course.

Heres my question. I know that the 93-95 comes with the 13b-TT and the 88-92 come with the 13b-T. My question is, Can I save 1300-1500 bucks and go with a 13b-T and take the money that I saved and have some money to play with? Or would there be a lot of modification required to make it fit? I didn't know if the 13b-t/TT were completely different engines or if the TT was just TT and the 13b-t was just single or if they had to have different mounts and such.

Thanks,
Justin

The 2nd gen cars have motor mounts in a different location. Their engines will not bolt into an FD chassis.

The engine is similar, but the transmission mountings are not. I dunno about the motor mounts. You'll need to attach the powerplant frame to the 2nd gen tranny, which isn't set up to accept it.

I recommend sticking with a 3rd gen longblock.
