So I went to the Mazda Dealership yesterday... (FD newbie read this)

So like I said I stopped by yesterday because I needed to get a new air conditioning fan control switch (the off,1,2,3,4 switch). I have the infamous Power FC a/c failure problem and I have tried several fixes for it but to no prevail have any worked. So i decided I should get a new switch because living in the St. Pete/ Tampa region of Florida without ac in the FD is KILLER!! So i stopped by the parts center at Tyrone Square Mazda and after waiting for half an hour they told me that the manufacture doesn't make those switches anymore. So I am here to ask is the only way I am going to get another is by getting one from Japan? and Is that even possible to put a 99+ spec switch into the 93-95 models? I have a 93 base model. If this works you think Rammy would be the best person to contact for this? any feedback would be great because it's basically summer and I am HOT HOT HOT in my black on black FD...

Start by calling Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda. Other Mazda dealerships don't know what the **** an RX-7 is, so when people ask questions about them, they freeze up and say it's all discontinued.

Call Ray before jumping to any conclusions, because last I heard, he still sells all the climate controls.

Replace the Heater resistor with a new one from Mazda which is a $50 part still being made. I did that to mine 2 weeks ago and it solved the problem. It is something on the passenger side near the ECU and you dont even have to take off the temperature control unit (which is a pain in the ***).

If Ray doesn't have it than I would try Fritz Flynn, if I remember correctly he has a TON of stock used (but in good condition) parts.

+1. The last owner of mine just did some sort of wiring trick and my A/C works great using one of the first PFCs. (It is like the 142nd PFC made for the FD)
