OH Double nut method...

I agree w/Crispy that double nut method can be effective. However, I have always had the engine out whenever I've removed/installed em. I was able to get em facin upright and use PB BLASTER. Did have one break off in iron once, had to drill it out. Also, had one where shank was corroded to alum housing. Threads on outside/front of alum housing twisted/snapped off & did the same on back side, had to drill out hole in iron. Sometimes they are easier than other no doubt. Killer used or even better, new alum housing is nice and gives you new impeller partner ring.

I was looking through the service manual but cannot find the torque specs for the hardware on the waterpump housing or waterpump. I found it for the thermostat houing (section E), but not the other two. Anyone know?

Do you mean the nuts/washers fasteners? Far as I can tell 14-19ft/lbs.
