smoke - not just a thread about exhaust smoke

I have an oil leak, like many, and I thought my oil pan seal was leaking (and maybe it is) but while warming my car up today with the hood open I say some smoke starting to rise from around the #1 turbo area and I could smell it. I don't know if there is a small oil leak along the oil lines or it it is the turbo itself. There is a hesitation sometime with the turbo after the car has been running then shut off and re-startard, but anyone have any suggestions?

Exhaust Gasted from Turbo to Downpipe could be shot especially if your running the stock cat. My exhaust gasket got shot out and only half of it left because of so much backpressure.

also,
there is an o-ring in the stock y-pipe that went bad in my car and caused oil to drip right on the turbos.

Mine was smoking due to a loose oil line banjo bolt going into the turbo. My other oil burnoff problem was due to a leaking rear engine oil seal which means you have to pull off the flywheel to replace.

I actually had the same problem as the last poster but was fortunately able to fix it with some liquid gasket, and just pushing the seal back in as far as I could. Looked like mine just had too much pressure on it and the seal sort of exploded. I had the exact same symptoms as you
