Smoke from engine bay

So my friend bought an FD; the car was advertised as 0 mile motor, 0 mile turbos and 0 mile tranny. We have no reason to disbelieve this, but I think it may factor into the issue.

Once the car is warmed up, it will start to smoke from the engine bay intermittently. Roughly every 4-5 minutes a big puff will come out, and this will continue for another 10-15 minutes after the car has been turned off. The oil appears to be splashing on the exhaust manifold right where the front O2 sensor is. We've tried tracing the leak, but basically everything on that side of the engine is coated with oil; the y pipe, the intake, the charge pipes..basically everything.

So, we haven't been able to find the source of the leak. There's a warrenty on the motor and turbos, but if these symptoms are that of something minor like a oil line, I don't see a reason to take the car all the way back 8 hours south to get the warrenty work done.

Sorry to bump a 2 yr old thread, however this is the exact issue I am having right now and I've searched through every thread containing "engine" + "smoke". This was the one the best described my situation but has no replies to it.
Just wondering how/if it was resolved.

I have a small puff of smoke (not sweet, so gas or oil, likely oil) that comes from the turbo DP area of the engine. It only happens when I have been boosting and the turbos/engine are hot. So my guess is something is slowly dripping down and then it goes up in smoke (and a small flame) every 3-5 mins.

It was never resolved. Whatever the issue was, it wasn't detrimental and it didn't get any worse. He sold the car a year after I posted this.
