SMIC duct gap and air intake
Might be a little dumb but I'll ask anyways. I have a Greddy SMIC and as you may know unless you do some customization there's a gap between the duct and the IC. I've been meaning to close the gap but just too damn lazy.
Anyways, because of the gap I figure some of the air is diverted directly towards the intake. I have an open intake (Apexi Power intake).
So, I'm thinking status quo:
pro: fresh air into intake via IC duct gap
con: SMIC isn't fully utilized
If I close the gap
pro: SMIC is fully utlized
con: hotter intake temps prior to SMIC
Ideally I would get off my lazy *** and do a custom ducting and close the gap...
but given that I'm lazy what do you guys think is better
the status quo or close the gap

Close the gap. Even if you are sucking hot air in the intake, it has to go through the IC to get to the TB. And if the IC isn't getting adequate air, it's not cooling the intake charge like it should.
