a small pond of water under passenger seat

I discovered a pool of water under my passenger seat today. It is only under the seat and not in front of the seats so I don't believe it is the heater core or AC drain like I have seen on some posts. When you press down on the carpet a small amount of water comes out the bottom of the car (no jack available to look under it currently) It has a metal sunroof and I have heard the drain plugs can go bad but I can not seem to find where they are. Any Help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if a hole in the floor pan would allow that much water in after a 60 mile drive in the rain.

You answered your own question, definetly sound like you got a leak in the floor pan. Should be an easy fix.

Is it really cold? Is it only under the seat? I was in my friends 94, as a passenger, it rained and we thought thats what it was. But the water was really cold, later I found out the line to the a/c the condenses the water and lets it leak outside I guess got disconnected and was leaking into the car. Made a decent size puddle inside and under the seat, but it started in front of the seat and worked its way back.

There's a rubber plug underneath the passenger seat (maybe the drivers seat too) that maybe the culprit. It's about 1" dia and hard to see from underneath. Remove the passenger seat and spray it with a garden hose and see how much water gets in.

Another common possibility is a small but deteriorated gasket in your hatch. I had the same problem you're having and it was driving me nuts before I finally came across this solution from Flyrx7:

"10-1 it's the rear hatch leaking, specifically the nylon bushing that each plastic corner caps screw into. More specifically, the triangular pieces directly in front of the tailights, in each corner of the rear hatch drain rail. Remove the 2 (3?) screws (black large head phillips type) and you'll notice a white nylon bushing that one of the screws attaches to. It is supposed to have some sort of gasket under it but it degrades over time. Remove it, apply some silcone or RTV around the bottom and re-install and voila', no more leak."

I did as he suggested, using RTV. Problem solved!

to get to the drain plugs you have to pull the panels off the A pillars. theres a black hose, thats it.

After pulling up the carpet on the passenger side floor, the water is also up front in the footwells. Also after getting the water out, I drove the car for 5 minutes with the A/C on and there was a small amount of water on the floor. I am assuming it is the hose that drains water from the A/C. Where is this located? Pictures?

Okay, I found the problem and the A/C drain hose was knocked off and draining into the cabin. Put it back and the problem was solved. Thanks for the help and this thread can be closed.
