Single or Twin Turbo?

Im thinking of buying a 3rd gen RX7, and I've heard a lot about the merits of using twin and single turbos, primarily the simplicity and reliability of a single turbo set up compared to the twin turbos.

however, i prefer having a really wide powerband with a very strong top end. numerically, around 150lbs of torque before 2000rpm,a peak of around 350lbs of torque at 4500rpm that stays more or less flat until redline.should the torque tail off i want at least 360hp at 7000rpm.

A lot of people seem to prefer the single turbo set up for practical maintenance, and suggest that i use a TO4E turbo, and with all the proper parts, ie, new intake, turbo manifold, exhaust, a larger front mount intercooler and the APEXi Power FC

on the other hand, will i get better results if i just upgrade the turbos to GT25/GT40R, then use a large front mount cooler and exhaust as well as other parts to solve the clearance issues, and the APEXi Power FC?

maintenance issues with twin turbos and the availability of components aside, will the twin turbo set up that i listed above outperform the single TO4E in response, midrange and peak power?

I know the question to go non sequential is a tired old one and it all comes down to which advantages will benefit the driver more for whatever he wants to use it for as well as what disadvantages he/she is willing to live with. But here I've highlighted more specific torque curve numbers as well as the turbo choices, since i really want to do more than weigh the advantages and disadvantages of either setup before i hear the opinion of people who know more about this than i do.

Anyone who's using the TO4 and anyone who's using a GT25/GT40R or a similar sequential upgrade, can help me out by posting key dyno numbers so i can make the comparisons.

the opinion of anyone who has a lot of experience with turbos and can hypothesize the result of the GT25/GT40R upgrade is also greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I see no disadvantage whatsoever in going single. Unless you decide to get some oversized monster and depends for what. A small turbo pushing anywhere from 15 and up I think is sufficient for track. T88 area is what I would use for drag racing. Use NOS or some system to reduce or eliminate lag.
