single turbo upgrade

Hi everyone, first off im new to the threads, although ive been using this site as a huge reference, awesome site. Now i found a 94 fd, with 105k on the body, but the apex seals are blown, plus he doesnt have the stocks on there anymore, he sold them. I was thinking of rebuiling the engine and putting the single turbo he offered me, a TO4S, any suggestions to what i should do. thanks alot

First thing to do is read through the FAQ at the top of this section. Most of your questions will be answered by reading through it.

Depending on the asking price and condition of the car, it may be a good deal to buy it and rebuild the engine. More than likely though, it will be easier and more cost effective to find a well running example instead of fixing this car. At 105k, lots of other things will likely need to be serviced/replaced which adds up. You could easily end up putting 8 to 10k into the car, especially if your interested in running a single turbo.

My advice would be to browse the classifieds section for a well running FD, and be prepared to spend between 14-18k depending on mileage and condition.
