LOL...not to discriminate, but his is an R2! Practically stock, one of 16. That's the ultimate to me...

Matty, that price is LOW. He should EASILY be able to get 23K - 25K for it from an enthusiast.

I'd pay that much for that car if I had the money. Obviously I'd like some more info, but if it's as stated, that car should sell for at least $22K.

so you think their is a "rareness" value i guess. i dont. We mod these cars anyways whats the difference if its an r2 or touring, etc...

I don't think there REALLY is, ie recognized by say, a collector's organization or appraisal service...but to ME, there's an incredible rareness. Oh and to ME, an R2 is the closest you can get to the return of a pure sports car (none of the other heavy luxuries found on other models, and all of the performance equipment). But then again, I'm prob. biased, cuz I have a 94 R2

Oh and I'd never want this modded. Completely bone stock, minus reliability mods (as necessary). I was VERY close to buying Charlie's black 95 R2 (one of 18) and selling mine, but I had all these mods that I wanted to do, and I couldn't bear to do that to a 95 R2...esp. since they're so rare...

One bid and the price goes straight to $22k. Seems odd. Most RX-7s with that sort of mileage go for $16-$17k on eBay. I'd lay bets that it will be readvertized on eBay with more realistic bidding in a month or so.

Umm...the STARTING bid was $22K, and it seems that he has no reserve, so as of now, he's gonna get $22K MINIMUM any way it goes...

Any 7 w/ that kind of mileage should easily fetch $19k - $21k, esp. rare cars, like a 93 CYM R1, or in this case, a 95 Silver R2. It just so happens that the 95 Silver R2s are rarer...

Matty, I saw the intake, but that's reversible..very minor IMO. Tints, c'mon...that's hardly a mod lol. That's a very good idea...taking care of the interior by reducing the temps. If you're getting bling mirror tints and what not, yea I'd take issue w/ it..but just normal tints...that's cool (and removable)

Ya think so? That would def. make me think twice (IF I had the money lol). I dunno...I kinda automatically assumed that if it only had 39K miles, it HAD to be someone who really cared for it and babied it...just cuz if it was me, and I didn't know what I was sitting on, I sure as hell wouldn't keep it low mileage.

These were my thoughts as well. If any young kid owned that car for any amount of time, the odds are that the milage would be much higher, and it would have more modifications than just an intake and tint. This looks like a solid low mileage car to me.

I think you are thinking about this all wrong. Think how rare a moded black 95 R2 would be. Maybe 1 or 2 in the US.

I love these cars but they are not ferrari's and you wont be seeing one selling for a $million 50 years from now.

Buy it and mod the heck out of it (because it needs it).

Well, the guy bidding on it bought a gas tank for an FD on August 9th, so I would assume he already has one. Maybe the guy bidding on it is the seller's friend, trying to inflate the bidding.

Eh, no. A large number of eBay auto sales do not complete. I have seen several RX-7s relisted after apparently successfull auctions. Even if it is a legitimate buyer in this case (which seems questionable), finance companies may take a dim view of someone paying $22k+ for a car with a private party value of $18k.

My guess is if the guy is able or willing to pay 22k for a 1995 Model Year Car...then most likely he has Probly half that in the bank...if not all of it, and wont be financing much if any......

sadly I could only fetch $18500 for my black 95 R2 with just a touch over 60k miles. it was mint though, and I put a lot of money in it to make it that way. It was modded in a similar fashion to this car, with the pettit intake and tints.

anyway, seeing this car almost makes me want to pick it up. I've had my heart set on building up a base model, but I remember how perfect the R2 was... even though it was 99% stock, I had a blast when I was driving it, even when there were other faster cars on the road. The person who picks this car up will not be dissapointed at all
