Side Mirror Option: Craft Square PICS!

Mods, this may be more appropriate in the Interior forum, but I figured it has more revelance here in the 3rd gen section. But move it as you see fit.

There arent that many options here in the states for aftermarket side mirrors for the FD. Ive seen a couple Signal style mirrors here on the forum but havent seen any other options, RE Amemiya, Signal, Feed, or Ganadors (int/ext forum).

Well, Auto RnD is a trusted vendor of this club forum and they offer some amazing stuff, namely Craft Square mirrors. (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=644121) Sure you can order the other stuff from Japan, but I like the peace of mind that if I have a problem with my orders or products, I can actually call someone that speaks english

For the cars that are looking for a tried and true racing mirror or a serious way to finish off your awesome body kits, these mirrors will do it.

Now pictures

I didnt order the LED plug covers that go into the stock holes on the door. I had my original holes shaved.

Base

Designed by Craft Square in Japan. Its the real deal!

Looks like an Alum fordged base, they even mark the sides for the few that cant figure out left from left

Blue Anti Glare option. The lenses are SO clear and the blue is barely noticable.

When I ordered them, I figured they would be this tiny little mirror smaller than my gf's compact. Figured Id have to squint my eyes to see behind me through tiny slivers of mirror. But they are pretty large mirrors. The size of the mirror really isnt that much smaller in size than the stockers. I can take a picture of them both in comparison if someone wants to see that.

Sexy weave...

Some quick pictures of it installed. Dont be fooled by the description that they are "simple bolt ons." You have to do some drillin. And its almost a game of chance to drill the correct hole at the right angle to make it work. Its not big deal, but its something that will make the newb installers weary because youre drilling into your door.

These are some seriously awesome mirrors. The best part is the visibility improvement I gain by actually being able to see in whatever direction I wish thanks to the ball joint adjuster. The mirrors I had on them before were the discontinued RE Amemiya mirrors made for the RHD car. I couldnt see much haha.
I need to weigh them in comparison to the stock mirrors and just simple reference information. But just holding them in my hands, they are VERY light.

Not bad actually. Have you thought about painting the base to match the car, or black?

^Those look top quality. I like them and I'm not a fan of most bolt ons available for the FD. I concur with the part about painting the base to match the car. That would look trick.

Could you please take and post a picture of these alongside a stock mirror. I'd like to compare sizes.

Also wondering how much these cost you?

I got a set of these as well. VERY nice mirrors, very light. I have yet to compare them to my FD mirrors, but I did take a pic of them next to S5 Aero Mirrors for reference. The pics are in that thread.

Thanks for the info! Could you explain to me where the "door panel" type gets installed? A picture would be awesome, if you had it.

Considered it and I think it was actually discussed in the AutoRnd Vender forum, but its kinda hard to get myself to do that when Ive paid what I paid and waited as long as I waited. And to top, Im probably one of two cars here in the states with these mirrors so Id rather leave it alone and keep it simple

I just dont think they go with the lines of the car that nicely. Not trying to pick a fight, but I see these as a bad mod. smaller mirror. Mainly done just to do SOMETHING for a modification. Plus, it just doesn't flow with the car.

But the quality does look good.

Haha, that could probably be said with 90% of the mods we do to our cars. I personally didnt like the look of the stock mirrors on our cars. It didnt fit with the look of my body kit either. They stick out past the side of the car. I like to keep things tucked in and compact and within the body lines. These solved that.

The mirrors I had before were mounted in teh same place and kept within the lines of the car as well. But like I said before, with the RHD mirrors, I couldnt see anything...

Taking a second look at the pictures, I definitely agree that these mirrors go with your body kit MUCH better. plus, if you have better visibility, then it is A+ in my book.

And as said before, I would love to see more pictures of your FD.
