?RX-7? ????????????? - ????!

Just saw this, but I'm sure some others have as well. Apparently, this FD for sale was owned by the author of Initial D. I remember some older threads about some FDs being overpriced, but how about this one for almost $100k? There's a lot of legacy that comes with it, if it was actually previously owned by Shigeno, though..

 

I don't think there is a big enough Initial D fan to spend 100k on an rx7 lol, but hey if someone buys it jokes on him.

 

The funny thing is anyone can replicate that and for alot cheaper, yet its not that great looking.

 

I am sorry but that is one ugly front bumper and wheels. Anyone could build a better looking and similar performing FD for half the price.

 

I have the same feelings towards the car - ridiculously over priced. Just because it was owned by the creator of Initial D doesn't mean you can tack on another $80k to the usual price tag. I could see it going for maybe $40k to someone who adored the show and would tell everyone about the previous owner. But any more than that is just ridiculous.

 

Period modifications for the JDM connoisseur only. Personally dig it. But yeah maybe 40k if you ran a Mazda museum or something.

a car like that loses its value in my eyes , I'd be to afraid to track it , to drive it , to abuse it .

Short of going to some comicon / car show .

 

Previous owner of my car was named 'Smith'. Who'll give me $40k?
