Should an intake heat shield cover the Rad?

I'm about to build a heat shield for my apexi inakes b/c one of the intakes is pushed directly into the hot intake side of my IC and I figure it would help alot to correct this. While trying to figure out how I was going to put the shield in, I started to debate weather or not to shield the intakes from the radiator.

My water temps are about 85-88 deg C durring normal driving condtions, but I figure that the fresh air coming through the radiator will not pick up all of that heat and it should be much cooler than that. Does anybody know what temp the air coming through the radiator is? For example if the outside air is about 80 deg F (about 27 deg C) and my water temp is 190 deg F (88 deg C) what temp should the air coming through the rad. be while I'm driving?

Obviously the air will be warm, but I feel that if I shield the intakes from the rad. I will be loosing alot of fresh air going to my intakes since all of the ram air in this car goes throught the rad. Any opinions on this?

Here is a pic that explains the position of the intakes: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=193945)

Matt-
I dont know if you have done this or not yet, But on the passanger side where the oil cooler would be- there is a black plastic peice that is blocking it (unless you have the R models) Take it out and you will have air going right under your intakes.

If you have this done already or have the R1 model- nevermind.
