Should I refresh bushings?

Hi, I have a 93 FD, 20k original miles, all bushings original, on street drives no wierd noise really, on inspection (with eye) seems no worn to me.

And my question is, do I need to refresh these bushings just because they're old?

I'm not exactly sure if bushings shall be replaced after certain time or after certain mileage, or if it works it works.

Thanks

The steel pillow ball joints shouldn't degrade with time like rubber or urethane bushings, the dust covers may fail. I'd probably wait till you start to feel rattles or slack in joint unless you are stripping suspension components fir other reasons.

Agree. If they start making noise, then replace. But you could check the rubber dust seals for cracks. I’m not sure what others do but once a year or so, whenever the car is up on the lift and I think of it I’ll use a needle fitting on my grease gun to put just daub of grease to replenish behind the dust seals. When the suspension is in full droop the seals stretch a bit which leaves a small gap for the fitting. I have maybe 80k on mine now and they’re still quiet.
