Should I keep my Stock Main Cat??

I installed my midpipe and I have someone that is interested in buying my stock cat. Should I keep it to pass emissions in two years or is there a way to fool the emissions people? I can do the denatured alcohol trick but if they look under the car they will see that there isn't a cat. I was thinking about cutting the bottom shield off of the cat and tack welding it to the midpipe so it looks like a cat. Any thoughts?? Thanks.

Keep it. Don't cut it. Its easier and safer to swap in a cat then ******* around with other tricks.

I can tell you all those gauges won't help you
that isn't a smart move to have a midpipe on the stock ecu. I can guarantee there will be many times where your boost will want to go over 10psi no matter what you do. Even if your wastegate is ported which I doubt it is....it's not the best of ideas. I guess at 67k miles you don't care if you blow the motor...I would drive the **** out of it too before you lose the coolant seals.

And the home depot valves blow.
Ball and spring is the only way to go.

You probably know this stuff already I'm just trying to help out. And concerning the cat...I wanted to keep mine just in case I needed it but my dad kept bugging me that it was in the way in the garage. I can see his point it is a big heavy ugly pos...but when he asked me if he could throw new performance parts away I lost it.

Yep, right there with you. I live in Denver at a high altitude so I don't have a problem with boost creep. I am ordering a PFC and commander tomorrow and a Blitz SBC ID-3 soon too. Maybe a AVCR but I am not sure. Anyway, thanks for the input. Anyone else?

Don't do it until you upgrade your ecu.You will overboost and blow your motor apart.

Will it be ok to straight pipe with an M2 computer without porting the wastegate?
