Should I install or wait?

I have an HKS Super Mega Flow intake and a HKS DP(arrived today). Should I install them now or do I do anything else before I install them? My car as of now is 100% stock so is it safe to install both the intake and DP? Or should I just install one or the other? If so which one?

BTW I blew reverse out in my tranny so I won't have extra money for a while to remap or anything like that. Do I need to with just these 2 mods?

Thanks for your help.

You should be fine with an intake and DP.
Install the DP ASAP!

I dunno what you mean by remap, but with a bone stock car, adding the intake and dp will be fine. Get a boost guage if you don't already have one to keep tabs on the level.
G'luck installing the dp, and be careful not to break any studs

The main thing is to watch your boost levels. Make sure that after installation, you aren't spiking are going too far above stock boost levels.

Keep the boost under control and you will be fine.

make sure the intake and dp dont cause boost spikes or creep when you are in reverse too. oh wait, you dont need to worry about anything like that. Doh! :P

seriously though, how do you park the car now?

The car is parked on my carport and will not be moved until I get my tranny. I am planning on getting a tranny next week so it will not be parked long. I found one rebuilt for $500. So I think I will jump on it while I can. I have checked around and it is cheaper to do that than rebuild mine.

boost gauge

I think you should get a boost gauge. You dont have to install it to keep an eye on your boost. Just run vacuum line thru the window to make sure you are not boosting too high. Just check it once in a while, and then put it away. Install it when you are ready.

I planned on getting one soon anyway. So while I am down I guess I will go ahead and get one and install it. Does anyone know where to get a guage pod that fits on top of the steering column in place of the top plastic cover? I noticed one in a magazine once but now I can't find it.

Did you get the exhaust too? Intake make more air go into the engine. Don't forget to make the air go out freely(DP, MP and Catback). Those are important !!

Just install a dp today. I love it. Love the Turbo whine. It sounds so sweet. I have an intake and exhaust also but still running cat. Boosting 10-8-10. Noticable difference in speed. I think my precat was a little clogged. The turbos spool a lot easier.
