Should I have an high Idle when cold?

I'm not quite sure if this is a Cold wax thing.. but I haven't driven the car in 2yrs after a blown engine then a long down time till recently

it's now running again and i'm breaking it in..

When I start the car.. it idles at ~1,200 until the engine is warm 75*C approx and above..

after that when driving aroudn and coming to a stop it idles at it's usual 750-800

i don't have the AWS..

it's a JDM TB, IUM and LIM, JDM engine harness, PFC, rat's nest is cancelled.. but it's a US car.

I'd prefer it to idle lower as it warms up.. the neighbors don't appreciate a full 3" straight piped exhaust non-seq. setup.. to a barely muffling super drager

Mine always idles high when cold. If nothing else you could let her warm up in your driveway till 30-40 deg than drive.. just don't put your foot down and keep it at/below 3k rpm's and it *should* be fine.. obviously once you hit 70c + it's fine...

My car park is under my townhouse (converted Mill) and you can hear the reverberations from my car starting up from the 4th floor (faintly, but still). When I need to leave my house early in the morning I typically drive out before fully warmed.

Back out the the adjustment screw on the hot wax rod ,or remove the hot wax rod and the hoses to clean up the area and not have a chance for water leaks .

Any car will idle high when cold, even more so (and longer) when ambient temps are cold.

My DD shoots to 2 grand for about 5 seconds, then slowly comes back to 1500rpm upon cold startup, this is in 20-30F degree btw.

On the FD, i always had a weird cold start up idle issue but that was because I did the TB mod and i fooled around with the dashpot and bleed screw a while back. Aside from the funky cold idle, i have had no problems so im not gonna touch it anymore.
