Should I be able to hear my stock BOV?

I disconnected it from the air box, but can't hear anything.

I was just doing this as a final test. I already checked the valve for operation, checked vacuum line connections. Then, I made sure it is connected to the line going to the charge relief (BOV) solenoid under that little black vacuum resevior.

You're referring to the CRV, not the ABV/BOV.

I have both CRV and ABV vented (open intakes), and I can hear a very light airflow noise (increasing in pitch) from CRV during secondary prespool if I'm not pushing it. It's not a loud noise like the BOV.

I unplugged the one closest to the airbox just to see if I could hear anything and sure enough..it was pretty loud. No tone or anything, just a hissing, but yeah, you should hear something between gears when you're getting on it.

That's the ABV/BOV.

You're absolutely right. I just assumed it was the BOV because of the name "charge relief". I'll try it with the other one.

I hear something similar. Does it kind of sound like a lower pitched turbo spool? What rpm range is this generally at?

Yep, it's between 3000-4500RPM on boost, but varies some with load.

It works... BOV vented to atmosphere sounds really neat I re-connected it after the drive, though. I may vent it again if I can find a proper cap, but I'm not sure I want myself or police to hear that every time I drive it.
