Angry Shorted battery and now car won't start!

Trying to rush to make it to the drag races tonight. I put the car all back together in time but put my mini battery backwards (easy to do) and saw sparks. I reversed it but even though it cranked it wouldn't start. I tried jumping it but just the churning noise. I bought a new Optima battery with more then enough juice but it just turns over (errerrerrerrerrr) but doesn't start, damn!

I don't know what to look for now. I checked the fuses.

Did you check ALL the fuses or only the ones under the dash? There are some very large fuses near the battery that you need to examine....

If it's not the main fuse, I think you're in for a long troubleshooting procedure...

^ yup, thanks Brian and James!
I actually thought it was fine but James told me to pull it out. THere was a hairline crack and it was to the side instead of the middle. The middle is clear plastic and the sides of the top cover are frosted. You had to look at it closely with good lighting. Maybe if I lucky I can still pull one drag race before they close. ...unless that burning smell is my clutch.

Yeah, I hope you didn't blow the main fuse (120A). They don't carry those at Autozone, ect. I had to get mine from the dealer. I blew mine on a Sunday and was **** outta luck till Monday.
