Shifting problems (Mazdaspeed shifter)

I have a Mazdaspeed shifter in my car.

The other day, I noticed it was feeling a little "loose". I took the panels off and sure enough, the three bolts that hold the shifter in were almost off!

So, I tightened them up and put everything back together.

Now, when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, it's hard to find the gate for 3rd, as in almost impossible (grinds almost every time). I also noticed that when in neutral, if I push the shifter over to the left or right, it will just stay there. Shouldn't it try to center itself (especially when pushed to the left) to help me get into 3rd?

TIA

do you still have the bushing on the end? Also on the three bolts do you have the spring washers in?
